Moving VCEM to its own server?

We have a 7.3 VCEM server co-mingled with numerous heavy hitting SIM related processes on physical server. VCEM controls a large environment of c7000 enclosures. Due to performance and instability we'd like to move VCEM to its own VM. It currently has a remote SQL DB I believe. May want to move to a local DB with VCEM. I assume VCEM only has a single SQL DB to deal with but need to confirm.

Anybody gone through this or have any reference links? There is not a lot on VCEM wild on the web.
